this stands true in the case of me and my best friend too. the gods couldn’t have given me a better best friend even if they tried.
these days, we see each other less than usual, but what i love is the fact that we still make time to meet each other regardless of our hectic schedules and the sheer amount of assignments flowing over our heads.
whether it be playing fireboy and watergirl, rewatching our old home movies and laughing at how weird we were back then (we still are), meeting up for a walk and rant sesh, or even just collectively crashing out and staring blankly at the ceiling, we’ll still be content, simply because we’re together.
being friends for so long, i know her in ways nobody ever will. everyone sees my best friend as a smart and confident person, but what i see when i look at her is the girl i used to drop everything to spend my time with as a kid. (p.s – i still do.) i know the silent judgement she passes with every smile she gives, and her chaotic side that comes out when we’re together. we’ve seen ALL of each other’s crazy phases and been there for each other through them too. at this point, i think the word friend proves to be inadequate. she is a part of me and i am a part of her. is there a word for that yet? i don’t know, but there should be.
time’s passing, we’re getting older, but the bond we share has never changed. we’ve been through a lot together- like- A. LOT. and if it weren’t for you, i don’t know how i would’ve gotten through it. you play such an important role in my life and to be honest, i can’t picture my future without you in it.
my darling bestie, if you’re reading this, i love you so so much and i’ll always be there for you, no questions asked. never stop being the i.n to my hyunjin, the alexa to my katie, and (ofc) the ice to my fire. happy birthday bestie!! and as always, AHAHAHAH YOU’RE SO OLDDDDD!!!
